Get to know the country and people at your own pace
One popular cycling tour on Majorca starts in the resort of Alcudia leading you past the Parc Natural de la Albufera to Can Picafort and Artà. From Artà, you cycle through the beautiful bay of Cala Agulla and continue onto a slightly smaller bay surrounded by dunes, the Cala Mescida. The return journey takes you through Artà with its pilgrimage church of Saint Salvador back to Alcudia again. Artà is a great place to take a break: With its small alleyways, street cafés and restaurants, the town has a Mediterranean flair providing a cosy atmosphere and a rich variety of cuisine. The tour is around 100 km long and is considered to be moderately difficult owing to the mountainous stretches.
The Vías Verdes -Greenways- are old disused railway lines that have been recovered and reconditioned for use by walkers and cyclists. Exploring them is a different, enjoyable and environmentally friendly way of getting to know Spain, its culture and its landscapes. This is an alternative ideal for all ages, that respects the environment and brings together sport and the great outdoors.
6 rest areas with benches, tables, bicycle parking and litters. Informations panels with points of interest and information about flora and fauna. 15 surveillance cameras.
Along the greenway there alternate cereal crops, orchards and plantations of carob, orange, olive, figs or almond trees with Mediterranean forest of wild olive, Aleppo pine, mastic and rosemary; the characteristic landscape of Serres de Llevant.
The route passes close to the beaches of Cala Millor and Sa Coma, the natural area of Punta de n’Amer and na Penyal, in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and the Natural Parc of Llevant, 6 Km from the train station in Artà.
We are very glad to reserve a Bike for you.
