Many hikers are drawn to the north-east with its Parc Natural de la Peninsula de Llevant. It is still considered THE insider tip among hikers. It was founded in 2001, covers an untouched and protected area and is located very close to Artà with 13 very well signposted hiking trails of all levels of difficulty. From short hikes for “casual hikers” to challenging trails with spectacular views over the Bay of Alcudia. In 2023, it was decided to expand this nature park to an area of 17,000 hectares.
In the nearby village of Cala Mesquida you will find hiking trails along the coast and the “forgotten beaches” of Cala Torta, Cala Mitjana and Cala Estreta. Each of them offers intimate bathing experiences – even in high season.
In spring, during the almond blossom in January until April, Mallorca is one of the most popular destinations for cyclists. Countless spectacular tours of all levels of difficulty, mountain stages or simply short round trips – on Mallorca there really is something for everyone who enjoys cycling.
The area around Alcudia offers well-signposted tours – also from Artà. The small mountain stage to Ermità de Betlem, a day tour to Petra, the “Via Verde” to Manacor by bike or the spectacular “Lighthouse Tour” M2 – in the northeast everyone gets their money’s worth.
